Travel Tips
No Passport Needed: If you're a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you don’t need a passport—just a valid government-issued photo ID.
Currency: U.S. dollars are used, and most places accept credit cards. Still, bring some cash for tips or small local vendors.
Language: Spanish is the main language, but English is widely spoken in San Juan, especially in tourist areas.
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU)
When booking your flights, you will want to select SJU as your airport destination. Most hotels will be 15-20 minutes from this airport.
Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, so you may consider your travel to SJU as a domestic flight. American citizens and permanent residents do not need a passport to travel to the island. A valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, suffices.
Getting Around
Taxis and Rideshares: Authorized taxis are readily available outside the baggage claim area for about $25. Rideshare services like Uber also operate at SJU, offering convenient options to reach your hotel and other locations.
Car Rentals: Car rental agencies, like Avis, Enterprise & Hertz have counters at the airport for those preferring to drive. Select SJU when reserving your car.

Ride In Style
Use promo code APPYCOUPLE when requesting your ride. New customers get $15 off your first ride with Uber.
